This role manages a team of business systems analysts supporting the firm s application portfolio. Responsible for the full development lifecycle, including requirements definition, application coding, testing, and support. Sets direction and provides career coaching. Determines build vs. buy decisions. Manages vendor relationships. Responsible for budgeting the information technology requirements, sets and implements policies and procedures related to application quality standards. Responsibilities: Personnel Management: Coaches and leads a team of technical analysts. Provides career development and coaching. Guides the staff in setting and attaining personal performance goals. Cultivates a culture of teamwork and collaboration. Manages activities of staff in geographically dispersed locations. Plans for strategic and tactical changes in staffing. Software Development Management: Leads the design and development of software using standard development methodologies. Coordinates with Firm Leadership and Project Management Office to prioritize work aligned with Firm priorities. Monitors progress to ensure software is delivered according to schedule. Coordinates with stakeholders to set the release schedule for new applications and upgrades of current products. Provides timely feedback to ensure that software meets stakeholders' needs. Provides developers feedback regarding software function and usability. Ensures that development best practices are followed to assure quality and long-term stability of in-house developed software. Leads coordination and collaboration with Firm Leadership, Product and Project Management, Development and Operations to create innovative solutions that meet requirements with respect to functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, and realistic implementation schedules. Design: Using extensive experience and judgment, formulates design alternatives that meet user requirements. Leverages social contacts with other firms, vendors, and outside consultants to create effective designs efficiently. Advises stakeholders of the advantages and disadvantages of design options. In conjunction with stakeholder feedback, recommends the design that best satisfies the end-user requirements and contextual factors. Business Requirements Analysis: Plans, coordinates, and facilitates working sessions to gather business requirements; documents end-user requirements including user roles and process models. Documents use cases, system function, and acceptance criteria. Negotiates with stakeholders to gain end-user acceptance of prospective system designs. Business Systems Knowledge: Able to identify and provide systems, processes, or solutions to meet the varied needs of the attorneys and staff within the practice groups. Research: Gathers, evaluates, and analyzes product and process information from vendors, outside consultants, product literature, and other firms. Develops and maintains strong ties with vendors, outside consultants, and peers. Leverages relationships to provide synopses of potential solutions. Provides succinct summaries of the information collected, explaining relative strengths and weaknesses of various decision paths. Business Process and Workflow Analysis: Works with user groups to develop efficient business processes. Ensures processes are effective and integrate seamlessly with existing systems. Uses standardized templates to describe and document business processes. Job Requirements: Requirements: Education & Experience: Requires a minimum of seven years of related business systems analysis experience. Requires a minimum of five years of experience in a management role.
