Job Description

The Washington Post's Client Solutions department is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst with expertise in sales performance reporting, revenue analysis and forecasts, and annual budgeting. What will you need to succeed in this role? The desired candidate is self-sufficient and self-directed in managing their analytical and critical thinking skills, ability to streamline complex processes and reports, top-notch communication skills to communicate with key stakeholders, and mastery of databases and spreadsheets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Use databases/spreadsheets to prepare reports measuring revenue performance against plan and prior year.
  • Work with management to prepare and analyze quarterly forecast and annual budget submissions.
  • Collaborate with client and agency partner teams to develop quarterly business reviews for key accounts.
  • Maintain and organize large volumes of data from multiple data sources.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes.
  • Assist with ad hoc requests as needed.

  • 5+ years of relevant experience with bachelor's degree with a concentration in finance, business, or accounting
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills when dealing with all levels of management
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Evidence of good judgment, creativity, inquisitiveness, and perseverance in past work or educational experience
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize data and provide meaningful insights to executive leadership
  • Demonstrated ability to define and undertake work assignments with minimal supervision
  • Ability to multitask in a deadline-driven environment
