Summary

This vacancy is for a Administrative Specialist position in the Administrative Office, Chief Financial Officerlocated at the U.S. Census Bureau Headquarters in Suitland, Maryland. The Census Bureau is accessible from the Metro Rail Green Line - Suitland Station.

This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Administrative Specialist, GS-301-9, FPL12 positions within the Census Bureau in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with team lead and Administrative Officer, along with division chief's or their designee, Office of General Counsel, and contacts in other agencies to assist with preparing standard Interagency and Other Special (ISOA) agreements.
  • Developmental administrative functions such as: maintaining necessary documentation for reimbursable and interagency agreements, to include cost estimate worksheets, determination and findings, and Acceptance Agreements in the Reimbursable Agreement.
  • Developmental administrative functions, such as interagency agreement maintenance, human resources liaison, training coordination, records management, time and attendance reporting.
  • Oversee personal property management; procurement request via purchase card or procurement system, handle security, health and safety issues; and provide for mail delivery.
  • Record and file maintenance, travel guidance, space management, housekeeping, and other administrative services.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and individual states being in different phases of reopening, once the selectee becomes an employee, the report date to the official duty station/facility may be delayed until such time that management notifies the employee of their requirement to report. Until it is safe to relocate, the employee may be approved to telework to the maximum extent possible, up to and including full-time.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience: For the GS-9, you must have one year of experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 in the Federal service. Experience for this position includes experience with utilizing and maintaining budget documents and tracking costs; experience utilizing purchase cards to procure supplies, equipment, etc. and processing these requests; experience working with and communicating with higher level managers; experience performing activities related to personnel actions; experience with time and attendance procedures and researching leave errors; and/or experience with maintaining property or records management.

Education: master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related
