Summary

This position is located in the Department of Health And Human Services, Office of the Assistant Secretary of Health (OASH), located in Washington, District of Columbia.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates aspects of the OASH corporate brand and social media presence in compliance with applicable federal guidelines and the consensus of OASH leadership.
  • Supports the development of communication strategies and uses visualization tools to educate and enhance understanding of key health initiatives.
  • Collaborates with OASH subject matter experts to develop cutting-edge information graphics and interactive data visualizations for presentation on the Internet.
  • Develops messages and supporting graphics to aid OASH policy/program leaders with communicating information about the modernization of the U.S. health care system.
  • Supports policy, program, and research leaders in conceptualizing and developing data based information products.

Qualifications

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below.

Minimum Qualifications:
GS-09: You must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in the Federal service that includes the following:
  • Developing health communications and marketing materials;
  • Designing and maintaining organizational branding;
  • Creating visual materials that are incorporated into web content and social media; and
  • Managing website content and web development such as creating website buttons, ads, and other tools .

OR a master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position.

OR a combination of the required experience and education for this grade level.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through national Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; community; student; social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
