Summary

This position is located in the Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information (OSII), Criminal Intelligence Division (CID), Intelligence Collections Branch in Washington, D.C.

Serves as a technical advisor to the Branch Chief, and is responsible for performing analytical, planning and evaluative duties related to the aspects of the Division's Intelligence products.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as an advisor and expert authority to top bureau management on all policy issues and technical matters affecting criminal intelligence collection aspects within the CID and its branches.
  • Assists in the development of new or modified work methods, organizational structures, management process, guidelines, procedures and software that assist in strategic intelligence collection and analysis.
  • Manages and organizes the collection of intelligence from various sources.
  • Serves as a project leader management/program working groups. Prepares project papers and staff reports. Support and/or assist with analytical research and production of related written reports. Convenes, and participates in, cross-program and collaborative team efforts and other significant meetings.

MOBILITY PLAN : New employees hired pursuant to this vacancy announcement must sign a mobility agreement. Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-14 candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-13).

Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Examples of specialized experience include:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the theory and principles of collection management and intelligence in order to resolve sensitive, controversial and complex situations, while assessing, identifying and recommending solutions to bureau officials
  • Experience with qualitative and/or quantitative analytical evaluative methods for the assessment and/or improvement of intelligence program effectiveness; and/or the improvement of complex intelligence/management processes
  • Experience with intelligence databases and applications that are used within an organization
  • Oral communication to diplomatically, tactfully, and authoritatively convey sensitive and potentially controversial information
  • Written communication
