Summary

This position is located in the District of Columbia Courts, Talent Acquisition Branch (TAB) of the Human Resources Division. The TAB Human Resources Specialist will serve as a strategic human resources specialist for vacant non-judicial positions in the DC Court of Appeals, DC Superior Court and Court System.

Responsibilities

The following list provides a snapshot of the duties:
  • Serves as a strategic human resources specialist for recruitment and related areas
  • Provides a broad range of Human Resources advisory and consultative services to managers, supervisors, and employees in the area of recruitment
  • Utilizes automated Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) and automated Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to access information and send correspondence
  • Develops recruiting strategies with hiring managers by gathering information concerning staffing needs and specifications for announcements
  • Sources, screens and refers qualified candidates to hiring managers
  • Checks references and makes job offers
  • Performs human resources quality review of candidates, ranks applications, composes vacancy announcements and creates selection certificates
  • Initiates and sends non-selection letters and dispositions candidates
  • Facilitates testing when required for a position
  • Assists with special projects and initiatives

Please note: This position will only participate in interviewing of candidates if selected to be on an interview panel.

The ability and readiness for employees to telework impacts operational requirements and capabilities. This includes having a personal computer, tablet or mobile device which is not shared with secure internet connectivity.

To qualify for this position, you must submit the following:

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

A High School diploma plus seven (7) years of experience in Human Resources and of those seven (7) years at least two (2) years of specialized experience in talent management. Working knowledge of an automated Applicant Tracking System. Must have performed minimum qualification review of resumes. Attention to detail, exceptional customer service and time management skills are paramount.

Preferred: Experience working with Monster Government Solutions or similar software; Federal Personnel Payroll System and Workforce Transformation Tracking System.

Education Substitution:

Bachelors degree plus three (3) years experience in Human Resources and of those three (3) years at least two (2) years of specialized experience in talent management.

Education

Foreign Education: Education completed outside the United States must have been evaluated by a private U.S. organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials, commonly called a credential evaluation service or education to meet the above requirements.

This job is being filled by an alternative hiring process and is not in the competitive Federal civil service.

Please note there is a mandatory one year probationary period for all non-judicial new employees.
