You will serve as an EQUAL OPPORTUNITY ASSISTANT in the Human Capital Management Department of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Responsibilities

  • You will work with EEO Specialists in executing initiatives for the following EEO programs: Discrimination Complaints Program; Individuals with Disabilities (IWD) Program; Affirmative Employment Program (AEP); and Special Emphasis Program.
  • You will maintain all discrimination complaint records according to standards established by the EEO Commission (EEOC).
  • You will explain equal opportunity complaint procedures including grounds for complaint, the complainants rights, and alternate avenues for solving the problem.
  • You will assist employee in preparing the complaint to the extent required.
  • You will maintain office records and related EEO files.
  • You will Assists the Deputy EEO Officer and staff personnel in the analysis and preparation of various reports required by the Commander and/or Headquarters.
  • You will use independent judgment and provide technical support to management for accomplishment of EEO program goals and objectives.

Qualifications

For the DG-04 position, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower DG-03 pay band or equivalent grade level (GS-05/06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience includes: (1) Applying working knowledge and experience of equal opportunity methods, procedures, regulations and purposes of equal opportunity to support agency EEO programs (i.e. Discrimination Complaints Program; Individuals with Disabilities (IWD) Program; Affirmative Employment Program (AEP); and Diversity/Special Emphasis Program.); (2) Assisting employees in the preparation of EEO complaints and documents; (3) Gathering data and preparing reports and presentations; (4) Utilizing tracking systems for coding and editing requirements to input, validate, update and ensure accuracy of information in systems; and (5) Communicating orally and in writing to resolve problems through discussion with parties to an informal complaint that clarifies facts and issues.
