Summary

This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Communications(OC), Web and Emerging Technologies Group (WETG), located in Woodlawn, MD.

As an Information Technology Specialist (Internet), GS-2210-12, you will assist in providing direction for the work of CMS website contractors focused on Web Content Management Systems (WCMS).

Responsibilities

  • Support and provide direction for the work of CMS website contractors specifically focused on: Drupal development, training, documentation, and administration.
  • Work directly with internal stakeholders and contracted resources to support content development; delivery and optimization; website migrations and redesigns; including information architecture; Governance; and Search Engine Optimization efforts
  • With manager support, provide internal training, consultation and support to internal Agency stakeholders to make the most of the Drupal platform including content layout and delivery choices.
  • Maintain and administer the Agency's Web Content Management System (currently Drupal).
  • Support the Agency workgroup responsible for establishing a web governance framework across the Agency's web properties.
  • Conduct demos and presentations for various audiences as needed.

Qualifications

Basic Requirement: You must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

In Addition to the Basic Requirement Above:

In order to qualify for the GS-12 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include:
(1) Knowledge and customer support for a Web content management systems (i.e. Drupal, Percussion, etc.)
(2) Experience assisting in supporting the redesign of public-facing websites using content management systems (i.e. Drupal, , Percussion, etc.), including understanding of optimized templates, workflows, layouts, and content types: AND
(3) Project management support for a team responsible for managing a web content management system with multiple stakeholders.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current or former Federal employees and current or former Federal employees applying under the VEOA eligibility who hold or have held a permanent General Schedule position in the previous year must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
