The AIX/Linux Administrator II will be responsible for successful administration of all IBM AIX, WebSphere, and Linux systems used in support of Beacon Commercial and Federal contracts; and manage daily operations of the Beacon System Administration Security Group in support of these business critical systems and plan for future growth. *This positionhas an on-call rotation of 1 week on followed by 3 weeks off* Position Responsibilities: Interface with program management personnel and Beacon Commercial and Federal service centers on high-level issues involving data architecture, compliance requirements, and reporting needs. Providing technical assistance to the staff of developers, operators and administrators Analyze software and hardware environments to determine any system defects. Identify and resolve system issues in a timely manner and support root cause analysis. Management of assigned enterprise services projects or components of projects Support and implementation of the Security policies and Controls as defined and developed by the Information Security team Automation-focused with understanding of DevOps CI-CD and IT Infrastructure automation Participate in an "on-call rotation Timely and accurate completion of other tasks as defined by supervisor AIX/Linux: Configure, implement, and manage IBM power systems and RHEL Enterprise servers in a highly available (HA) and virtualized environment (IBM PowerVM, VMware) Build, configure, and troubleshoot LPARs, VIO servers or RHEL on physical or virtual servers Install and configure AIX/Linux operating systems and servers. Support AIX/Linux OS to run various software applications. Maintain and upgrade the AIX/Linux OS. Install and test AIX/Linux OS patches. Develop procedures for AIX/Linux security and management. Veritas clustering and/or GPFS installation and administration on Linux system (AIX also preferred). Update standard policies according to environment changes and audit results. Develop performance improvement initiatives for AIX/Linux system environment. Plan and coordinate the installation, testing, and maintenance of AIX/Linux systems software and related hardware. Support disaster recovery and data center operations projects Plan and execute AIX/Linux projects within approved timelines. Maintain documentation of AIX/Linux hardware and software components and user and operator procedures. Experience with IBM Network Installation Manager (NIM) & Secure Key Lifecycle Manager (SMKL) preferred. WebSphere: Installation, implementation, upgrading, performance, security, patching and monitoring of WebSphere Application Server Network Deployment (WASND) environments. Experienced in IBM HTTPS Server (HIS) Maximizing availability and performance for all WASND and IBM HTTP Server Plugins and IBM HTTP Server systems Developing a detailed understanding of WebSphere Application Server Clustering for High Availability Monitoring, tracking, trending, analysis and tuning of the WebSphere environments to provide maximum system availability and uptime. Experience in WebSphere Enterprise Service Bus events, problem determination, administration, and performance tuning.
