Summary

You will serve as an Audit Liaison and collaborate with the Senior Audit Liaison to manage FTA's responses to audits from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), as well as the agency's response to OIG Hotline Complaints. You will also, as assigned, work on the following: manage development and production of selected performance planning and reporting documents; conduct research and prepare reports and analyses on public transportation.

Responsibilities

The Transportation Data Analyst (Audit Liaison):
  • Conducts audit liaison activities and coordinates federal agency responses to audits from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) and the Office of the Inspector General (OIG).
  • Manages development and production of selected strategic, biannual, or annual planning documents, and/or quarterly and annual performance reporting documents as assigned.
  • Conducts research and prepares and delivers reports and analyses on public transportation data as assigned.
  • Contributes to preparing and reviewing draft documents, which may include reports, contracts, federal register notices, or other documents.

This position is ideal for a mid-career analyst with at least 2 years of experience as a liaison for GAO and OIG audits who is interested in taking on increased responsibilities.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Qualifications

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience requirements.

To qualify for the Grade 12, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-11 it must include:
  • Experience coordinating General Accounting Office (GAO) and Office of Inspector General (OIG) program audits for a federal agency.
  • Experience analyzing and reporting on transportation data.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
  • Audit management: Ability to conduct audit liaison activities.
  • Performance planning and reporting: Ability to develop schedules, coordinate requests for performance data and supporting information from program offices.
  • Data analysis and reporting: Ability to perform ad hoc data analyses.
