Summary

The incumbent will perform and lead employees in providing advice and assistance to responsible program officials by supplying financial management advice, including accounting, budget formulation, execution, and presentation.

Responsibilities

As a Budget Analyst you will:
  • Perform the full complement of budgetary functions and duties associated with all phases of the federal budget process.
  • Prepare detailed background documentation of assigned programs for inclusion in the CDC annual budget presentation to DHHS and OMB.
  • Coordinate the preparation and/or execution of the budget for assigned program's annual and multi-year budgets in support of nationwide public health research and treatment programs.
  • Ensure the organization's strategic plan, mission, vision, and values are communicated to the team and integrated into the team's strategies, goals, objectives, work plans and work products and services.
  • Prepare presentations to the CIO leadership / OFR on the execution of assigned program budgets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level of in the Federal service as defined in the next paragraph.

Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is experience which is directly related to the position which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) to successfully perform the duties of the position to include experience providing advice and guidance on various phases of appropriated fund budgeting and related legislation for preparing various financial and budget reports.
