This position is located at Sports and Recreation Division- Strength Performance Center, Ordinance Recreation Center, MacLaughlin Fitness Center and Clark Fitness Center.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Facility Manager in the overall operation of a fitness facility.
  • Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory: provides information and general instruction on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery.
  • Assists in setting up for instructors, contractors, events, athletic activities, and related functions. Performs facility cleanliness and/or monitors contracts.
  • Assists with publicity of programs and events and assists with the delivery and placement of posters, flyers and other promotional material.
  • Issues/receives equipment to authorized users.
  • Monitors fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate.
  • Cleans and performs minor maintenance on facility equipment.

  • Must be able to work various shifts to include days, evenings, weekends, nights, split-shifts, and holidays.


Qualifications

Serves as a Facility Aid in a Fitness Facility. Works under the direction of the Facility Manager.
  • Assists the Facility Manager in the overall operation of a fitness facility. Circulates among patrons to assure service is satisfactory: provides information and general instruction on the use of equipment, facilities, and machinery. Assists in setting up for instructors, contractors, events, athletic activities, and related functions. Performs facility cleanliness and/or monitors contracts.
  • Assists with publicity of programs and events and assists with the delivery and placement of posters, flyers and other promotional material.
  • Issues/receives equipment to authorized users. Monitors fitness equipment condition; tracks maintenance and repair or replacement as appropriate. Cleans and performs minor maintenance on facility equipment.
  • Highly Preferred Criteria includes:
  • Having the ability to lift at least 40 lbs on your own and occasionally 50 lbs with assistance.
