Responsibilities

  • You will determine the adequacy of building services, furnishings, fixtures and schedule improvements.
  • You will conduct inspections of facilities to determine cleanliness and need for maintenance.
  • You will follow up on housing deficiencies to ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • You will address family housing issues in order to implement action as appropriate.
  • You will coordinate housing projects by maintaining liaison with command officials.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-6 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:1) Ensuring proper customer service and compliance with appropriate mandates of the Housing Program;2) Receiving and processing complaints and related investigations concerning residents; 3) Processing requests for permanent and temporary quarters;4) Scheduling and coordinating the maintenance and repair of housing units and conducting follow-up inspections to verify that discrepancies are corrected. 5) Identifying problems and deficiencies, such as tenant responsibility for damages beyond normal wear and tear (to include, preparing and submitting appropriate documentation to support findings).

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work alternates between sedentary work during which the employee may sit comfortably to do the work and work requiring physical exertion. Physical exertion includes long periods of standing, walking over rough, uneven or rocky terrain including construction sites; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching, extensive stair climbing or similar activities; recurring lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and driving an automobile. Must be able to travel outside the area by public transportation for training and certification.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Office work involves normal risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms. The office work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Work also involves moderate risks or discomforts that require special safety precautions, (i.e. exposure to bodily wastes and unsanitary conditions). Employees may be required to wear protective gear including hard hats, boots, and coveralls while visiting housing units or facilities undergoing inspection, repair, maintenance, or renovations.
