The Risk Data Coordinator will work under the supervision of the Risk Data Manager to perform various data tasks regarding the Safety Event Reporting System to include review of coding for accuracy and completeness, data validation, and other database management tasks as assigned. The RDC will coordinate data collection and analysis system wide for the Board's initiative on Enterprise Risk Management. The RDC will coordinate data collection and analysis on patient safety, employee safety, and litigation. The RDC will assist to coordinate other data initiatives including conflict of interest reporting, grievance data management, and will seek out and implement other opportunities to coordinate data within our safety event reporting system. The Risk Data Coordinator will perform other duties as assigned to support the functions of the Legal and Risk Management Department.


Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree (Required)

Minimum Work Experience
2 years - In a related position. (Required)

Proficient in the use of SQL, Power BI, RL Solutions, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint (MS Office).
Knowledge of databases and their functionality an asset and also required to have proficiency in the creation of simple reports using software applications.
Uses critical thinking and clinical skills to objectively identify and rate severity of incident reports.
Able to identify and prioritize incidents that impact patient safety, increase liability and result in "near misses" or poor outcomes as they relate to high-risk areas.
Strict maintenance of the physical and electronic security and confidentiality of the data according to Children's organizational standards.
Must be willing to travel.
Working from home 70%, in Legal Office, including all meetings, data audits and conferences 30%.

Healthcare risk management databases. (Preferred)

Functional Accountabilities

Data Management
1. Review incident reports for correct and complete coding
2. Enter new incidents as directed by Risk Data Manager
3. Perform additional data management tasks as directed

Application Customer Service
1. Maintain SERS application access per protocol.
2. Maintain data integrity in SERS database tables.
3. Perform additional customer service duties regarding SERS application as directed.

Coordination of Data Collection and Analysis
1. Provide support to other departments in data collection and analysis.
2. Identify new opportunities for data collection in SERS.
3. Coordinate with other departments to create forms for data collection and reporting.
4. Create custom forms for data analysis.
5. Maintain risk, patient safety, and ombudsman dashboards within the SERS.
6. Develop new dashboards as needed.

Enterprise Risk Management Data Collection and Analysis
1. Maintain legal department risk assessment data.
2. Provide assistance to other departments in completing their risk assessment data collection and analysis.
3. Maintain system wide ERM dashboard.
