Job Summary:
We have an immediate opening for a research assistant who will work with operational, design, and systems staff to support the Early Childhood Longitudinal Study, Kindergarten Class of 2022-23 (ECLS-K:2023), a comprehensive study that provides data on child development, early learning, and school progress. This position is based onsite at our office in Rockville, Maryland.
Job Responsibilities:
• Support study staff in the development of web survey specifications, paper surveys, and child assessment materials.
• Create training materials, including developing and writing training procedures manuals and support material.
• Conduct in-person training sessions for adult learners.
• Support data collection staff and monitor data collection quality.
• Contribute to OMB packages and data collection reports.
• Other relevant job duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree, preferably in the social sciences or education, and 1 year of experience in a research or education setting is required.
• U.S. Citizenship is required by contract.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with large-scale surveys, web survey design, and/or development of content for adult learners.
Strong written and oral communication skills, organizational skills, problem solving skills, computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Word and Excel), time management skills, as well as an ability to exercise independent judgment, work collaboratively in teams, and demonstrated attention to detail are essential.
