Position Overview:
Freddie Mac's Enterprise Model Risk Department (EMR) is currently seeking a Risk Policy & Governance Senior. This position will manage risk and control activities for EMR Department and conduct quality control reviews of 1st line Model Teams' risk and control activities as well as EMR validation activities. Your Impact:Risk and Compliance Oversight
  • Ongoing Interaction with Modeling Personnel in all Divisions
  • Monitoring of Data Integrity and Execution of Model Risk Controls
  • Identification of Risks & Problem Solving to Address Issues
  • Model Risk Process Scheduling & Monitoring of Compliance
Liaison with Oversight
  • Assisting in the coordination of audits, exams and oversight engagements; including managing action plans and requests to ensure they are completed timely and accurately
  • Preparing EMR issue closure packages
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Economics, Accounting, Risk Management, Management or other related field
  • Typically has at least 5-7 years of audit, control, compliance or operational risk experience in the financial services industry
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, including the ability to assess the adequacy of risk controls
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to effectively collaborate, influence outcomes, and create partnerships
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, Visio)
  • Preferred Certifications: CISA, CISSP, CISM, CIA, CPA, CFA, Six Sigma green belt/black belt, PMP or others
  • Internal Audit/Risk management experience is ideal
  • Working knowledge of the Model Risk Tool (MRT) or other related Governance, Risk and Control Tool(s) is helpful
  • Knowledge of secondary mortgage market is preferred
