Head Lifeguard

Under general direction, the purpose of this position is to supervise town pool lifeguards and administers to the needs and safety of pool patrons.  Employees in this position assist in overseeing the aquatics facility daily operations.

 DUTIES:

• Enforces town aquatics facility rules and regulations with appropriate staff and patrons Supervises lifeguards; assists in lifeguard training
• Understands and exercises proper emergency procedures including but not limited to first aid and CPR Maintains aquatics facility, including but not limited to hosing, water testing, vacuuming and performing other procedures in the pump room; ensures testing and maintenance of aquatics facility and pool is appropriately accomplished
• Assists in maintaining division inventory of supplies and equipment Performs other duties as required

 REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or GED required Minimum one year experience as a lifeguard with supervisory experience Must have the following certifications: American Red Cross lifeguard training, first aid, CPR, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) for the professional rescuer and Northern Virginia pool operator’s license, or the ability to obtain all within six months of employment Valid driver’s license with acceptable record

 HOURS:

• Monday - Friday, (Currently shifts are 7 :00 a.m. - 8: p.m.)
• Days/time varies, will include one weekend
