Summary

Within AARP Services Inc.'s (ASI) Digital Services Center of Excellence, the Director of Multiplatform Strategy is responsible for conceiving, managing and supporting best-in-class digital experiences that drive platform growth, audience development and user engagement across online, mobile and social channels. This individual will serve as the day-to-day strategic partner with ASI and AARP teams to advise on and lead B2B and B2C digital platform innovation to grow value for members, providers, third party partners and agents. The position oversees a team of digital/social media platform specialists and works in collaboration with project management, content and analytics teams within the Digital Services COE to support and deliver exceptional digital experiences.
Responsibilities

Consumer Digital Strategy

The Director of Multiplatform strategy will serve as a strategic lead on consumer-facing digital channels, including member communications, digital marketplaces or other consumer initiatives requiring digital strategic support. He/She will partner with AARP digital teams to advise on digital growth opportunities across member benefits channels on AARP.org and the AARP Now mobile app. This will include participation and leadership in the Member Benefits agile/pod teams and core business strategy working groups to align on channel priorities and development efforts.

Additionally, the Director of Multiplatform Strategy will oversee efforts around ASI-led social media accounts for Member Benefits, including channel strategy (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), content planning and development, audience development and paid strategies, working in collaboration with internal and external teams. This individual will help support traffic driving strategies to AARP digital channels through ASI social and digital marketing campaigns, as well as lead efforts to oversee digital coordination between ASI and AARP for marketing landing pages.

B2B Digital Strategy

The Director of Multiplatform Strategy is responsible for strategic oversight and innovation around B2B digital platforms, including planning, prioritization, design and maintenance of provider and agent community tools and distribution channels. He/she will work with internal and external teams and be operationally focused on building digital solutions that help providers and third-party partners who have a business relationship with ASI.

This role will involve working closely with executive teams to gather, analyze, and present fact-driven pragmatic insight on digital transformation while addressing related costs, time, and organizational implications.
  • Develop and drive digital platform strategies across web, mobile and social, setting a compelling vision, leading teams with data-driven guidance, and aligning with partners across the enterprise
  • Work with cross-functional teams across ASI to develop platform strategies, including co-op marketing, affiliate marketing, creative services, communications, data services, and customer solutions; seek input and gather requirements to prioritize digital platform initiatives meeting the needs of providers across lifestyle, financial and healthcare lines of business
  • Serve as AARP member benefits pod/agile team lead, working in partnership with stakeholder teams across the enterprise to advise, influence and prioritize digital initiatives that will deliver value to members, providers and third parties
  • Evaluate opportunities for digital platform innovation across AARP and ASI digital channels to improve reach, engagement, user experience, and operational effectiveness; provide POVs, strategies and insights to help inform planning; use data to set KPIs and goals for performance measurement; Collaborate with analytics teams to maintain and develop measurement plans in a results-driven culture
  • Oversee social media engagement and "social-first" content strategies to grow Member Benefits accounts on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, including engagement strategies/playbook, content packaging and audience growth initiatives; oversee internal and external social media and creative teams on implementation, growth and management of social channels; manage and collaborate on ongoing paid social strategies
  • Lead strategies to innovate and grow B2B digital experiences that create value for providers, third parties and agent communities; Serve as internal digital strategy consultant and advisor to the customer solutions team; Oversee internal and external teams supporting maintenance and enhancements of current and future platforms (MAC and STARS)
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to continually identify ways to grow the user experience
  • Identify opportunities to align the digital strategy to the enterprise strategy, provide recommendations, business case and execution plans
  • Contribute, develop and maintain the digital platform roadmap across consumer and B2B initiatives
  • In partnership with digital and cross-functional teams, responsible for agency and vendor management including selection, oversight and budgets
Requirements
  • Completion of a Bachelors degree in a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience related to the duties of the position.
  • 10+ years' experience in managing strategic digital initiatives within consulting, agency or consumer organization
  • 5+ years' experience in managing and growing social media channels within business or consumer organization
  • Experience working in relationship-driven culture and partnering with cross-functional teams
  • Understanding of e-commerce, social and mobile best in class practices and experiences across device types
  • Proven ability to manage numerous projects concurrently
  • Must be solution-oriented and accustomed to making data driven decisions on a daily basis
  • Must have ability to focus on the details while keeping the big picture view in mind
  • Sharp, analytical, problem skills matched with extraordinary people skills
  • Experience with managing multiple, time-critical strategic platform initiatives
