SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Housekeeper assists the Evening and Weekend Housekeeping Supervisor by performing day-to-day custodial duties and providing general support to the EWHS. The Housekeeper is responsible for providing courteous customer relations with residents and other individuals who seeks their assistance.

FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Evening, Weekend & Holidays)

      Responsible for the following:

  1. Keep trash chutes clear
  2. Check the compactor
  3. Change dumpster as needed
  4. Empty recycle containers on B3 garage level on a daily basis
  5. Vacuum lobby carpet, lst floor elevator lobby, passenger elevator and all floormats
  6. Clean all entrance doors
  7. Spot check all lobbies, B level floors, party rooms, bathrooms, elevators, hobby rooms and hallways
  8. Dust mop or wet mop as needed. Clean lobby and B level ashtrays.
  9. Replace light bulbs as needed
  10. Move the furniture and set up the party rooms for MCUOA sponsored meetings and activities
  11. Pull trash and newspapers (16th floor to 1st floor)
  12. Trash rooms must be kept clean and deodorized as needed
  13. Picking up trash in front and behind the buildings, including the Community Center
  14. Notice distribution and delivery of Board correspondence as needed
  15. Take care of all emergency custodial services
  16. Clean Association office (empty trash, vacuum carpet, dust mop or wet mop floor as needed)
  17. Clean all entrance doors
  18. Spot check all locker rooms, bathrooms, hallway floors, lounge and all activity rooms (dust mop or wet mop as needed)
  19. Clean bowling lanes as needed
  20. Keep supplies in proper closet/cage in order, clean and secure.

21.   Perform any other duties assigned by the Housekeeping Manager and General Manager
 

 

      Weekend/Holiday:

  1. Pull dumpster out/in
  2. Compactor room must be cleaned, washed and deodorized on a daily basis or as needed
  3. Pick up trash behind and in front of the buildings, including the Community Center
  4. Pull trash and newspapers four times daily (8:00/11:00/3:00/6:30), including recycle containers
  5. Vacuum lobby carpet, 1st floor elevator lobby, passenger elevators and floor mats including B levels
  6. Clean lobby entrance doors, all glass, furniture, railings and ashtrays
  7. Clean and polish all elevators
  8. Dust mop or wet mop the floors (lobbies, service elevator, B levels,      Party rooms, Hobby rooms, Laundry rooms, bathrooms and trashrooms)
  9. Clean up and wipe down the following areas:
  • Ashtrays
  • Mirrors
  • Tables
  • Lamps
  • Mail Chutes
  • Trashrooms and chutes
  • Doors
  • Walls
  • Bulletin Boards
  • Check the hallways and stairwells

      10.   Replace light bulbs as needed

  1. Sweep up the garage entrance and empty trashcans Move furniture and set up for MCUOA sponsored meetings and activities Distribution of notices as needed Picnic areas should be checked on a daily basis or as weather permitted (empty trash, check tables and clean Barbecue grills) Keep supplies in proper closet/cage in order, clean and secure Performing any other duties that are assigned by your supervisor

 

 

Other areas which often require a combination of help include the following:

 

  1. Pick up tree leaves
  2. Pick up leaves and clean up tennis courts
  3. Remove snow.

 

 

General Procedures:

 

  1. Keep all security doors closed at all times when not in use
  1. Do not leave service elevator on service when not in use All custodian employees are required to wear the Montebello uniforms Work overtime as required by your supervisor Be prepared to work holidays as staffing is needed Put all wet signs or any caution signs when wet mop stripping and waxing the floors
