Description This role is critical to supporting the membership and staff of the organization through coordinated project management within the Office of the President. Working closely with the President of the National Federation of the Blind, this individual develops and coordinates resources related to training, communication, and talent development for members and staff. This position is responsible for managing data, training, and resources to facilitate the development of a dynamic staff team at the National Federation of the Blind as well as improving the leadership capacity and diversity among the membership. It is responsible for administrative functions to ensure sharing of accurately and timely resources across the organization and for executing special projects to build capacity among the membership. This position will be responsible for coordinating diversity and inclusion efforts across the organizational leadership and membership structures. This position will be a primary champion for the organization's efforts to attract, train, and retain the best staff as well as strategies for cultivating a diverse corps of leaders from the membership of the organization. Responsibilities Lead talent recruitment efforts for the organization. Coordinate staff onboarding activities. Assist with professional development efforts within the organization. Coordinate communications, resource development, and training among staff. Advise the President on employment policies and practices. Develop and implement strategies for team engagement. Assist in the management of the organization's code of conduct. Support the organization's diversity and inclusion efforts. Support talent development efforts across the organization. Assist in administering key leadership and membership programs of the organization. Coordinate the documentation of organizational practices. Work with various leadership stakeholders to steer overall talent development strategies. Qualifications Strong communication skills Passion for developing people Excellent computer skills especially Microsoft Office Suite Ability to understand and reflect organizational values and priorities Experience facilitating training seminars Experience dealing with difficult situations Ability to analyze laws, regulations, and policies Knowledge of human resources regulations and practices Understanding of adult learning methods and instructional design Ability to be flexible and manage multiple projects simultaneously Education and Experience Bachelor s degree in business, human resources, organizational development, or social justice related studies Minimum of two years of experience in human resources, organizational development, or talent development Experience with the organized blind movement preferred not required How to Apply We do not speak in terms of positions for many of our jobs at the National Federation of the Blind national office, preferring to focus on the applicant s total skill set in determining a fit with our needs.
