Job Description

The Product Marketing Coordinator supports the Product Marketing team in their mission to develop and bring to life products that drive impact for our partners, grow our business and illuminate the journalism of The Washington Post.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the activities and output of the Product Marketing team
  • Produce and edit marketing collateral (one-pagers, memos, slides, etc.)
  • Maintain internal marketing tools and products (Asana, Notion, etc.)
  • Manage projects from idea to delivery
  • Track and report on the progress of key initiatives
  • Contribute to the ideation and development of new products

Characteristics of Success
  • Focus We are ruthless prioritizers with maniacal focus. We love getting lost in the clouds of an idea but know that attention to detail and a finely crafted to-do list are key ingredients to delivering success.
  • Creativity We are creators - makers - developers of "new." We look for the orthogonal approach instead of the obvious. We are excited to solve the problem and always up for a challenge.
  • Storytelling We are narrators. Principally looking to answer "why" - why we made this, why you want this, why we do what we do. We strike emotional resonance and impart a lasting impression.
  • Partnership We are partners. We look to engage early and often in collaborative creation with partners in all dimensions: editorial, sales, product, operations, even with clients themselves when called for.
  • Strategy We come to every conversation with an entrepreneurial spirit and wearing a general manager hat. We wonder how everything we do will impact every corner of the business. We anticipate and create opportunities before they are needed.

Requirements
  • Demonstrated passion for journalism
  • Bias toward action and a love of problem solving
  • High degree of detail orientation and organizational instincts
  • Proficiency with PowerPoint/Keynote, Word, Excel
  • Communication that is clear and concise
  • Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities
  • Able to ask for help when needed
  • Preference for prior experience with project management tools (Asana) and wiki tools (Notion)

The innovation doesn't end in the Newsroom - dozens of teams power The Washington Post. We are now hiring the next innovator - how will you Impact Tomorrow?
