To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/07/2020.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary, although some slight physical effort may be required. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work, however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items such as papers, books, folders, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform this work.

Responsibilities

As a Program Support Assistant, the incumbent is responsible for a variety of clerical, administrative and technical duties/responsibilities in support of HBPC management. The incumbent will assist with the development and maintenance of contracts for hospice and purchased skilled care. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for HBPC Community Care and home hospice fund control points.
- Pays monthly invoices for home hospice.
- Reviews and/or drafts revisions of regulations and/or policy on administrative matters.
- Disseminates information to office personnel concerning policies, plans, procedures, methods and actions of an administrative nature.
- Prepares correspondence covering subjects of an administrative nature, both internal and external.
- Maintains a continual accumulation of all types of data for use in preparation of a variety of reports.
- Compiles and prepares a wide variety of continuing or one-time special statistical and narrative reports.
- Use graphics software to provide charts and graphs or presentations for briefings.
- Schedules and monitors the GSA vehicles assigned to the programs, including vehicle use, mileage, maintenance schedules and completing monthly reports for VAMHCS and GSA Fleet Management Office.
- Gathers and analyzes program data and prepares reports for the Program and Medical Directors.
- Maintains both the Medical and Program Director's calendars, schedules and appointments.
- Serves as a backup timekeeper for multiple T&L's within the service.
- Serves as the purchase card holder for the department; ordering necessary supplies and equipment.
- Designated as the applications manager for HBPC software package, which includes compiling, preparing, and reviewing for accuracy monthly/quarterly statistical reports and computer transmittals to the Austin Data Center.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of contracts for hospice and purchased skilled care.
- Serves as the TMS administrator for the HBPC program.
- Performs primary source verification of licensure for all HBPC Clinical staff.
- Assists with telehealth appointments and tracking, opening and closing of GEC/HBPC consults.
- Records and disseminates all HBPC/GEC related meeting minutes.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade (GS-05) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
