Summary

The incumbent of this position is a senior level Information Technology Specialist and project manager responsible for the design and development of programs and systems critical to effective IT operations throughout NTSB, including telecommunications services, agency wide.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot problems and oversee activities of internal and external technical experts to resolve system, function and equipment failures with all NTSB information systems and services.
  • Coordinates and acts as the subject matter expert (SME) in a hands-on capacity for the end to end implementation of industry specific applications with vendors, customers, and IT resources.
  • Monitors project activities and resources to mitigate risks, makes improvements, solves problems, and/or takes corrective actions when problems arise. Captures appropriate lessons learned and communicates them to customers/stakeholders.
  • Monitors IT systems and infrastructure to ensure service level agreements are met and compliance to various internal and external guidelines and mandates.
  • Act as a final escalation point to provide guidance for difficult situations and mentoring to team members for complicated scenarios. Documents procedures that resolve escalated problems.
  • Coordinate the IT components of office moves, new site installs, emergency/temporary site expansions, and hotel space/virtual offices. Experience with large multi-site implementations and support spanning large geographical areas.
  • Maintains and oversees accurate configuration management of IT systems, including documenting of configurations, network diagrams, and changes.
  • Participates in the establishment of policy and procedures for the deployment and maintenance of IT systems, cost management, and access controls.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience:

Must demonstrate one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 or equivalent. SPECIALIZED experience is defined as experience which is in or related to the line of work of the position to be filled and has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Examples of SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE for this position include, but is not limited to:
- Experience with identity Management products.
- Experience with enterprise backup and archival systems.
- Experience in IT project management.
- Experience architecting enterprise IT systems.

This experience must be clearly demonstrated in your resume.
