Responsibilities

  • Provides a full range of grants and agreements support to Grants Management Specialists, including monitoring, reviewing, tracking all grant and agreement actions to include reports, payment, closeouts, and all other required documentation.
  • Inputs all pertinent data into the grants and agreements information system.
  • Manages records in accordance with federal record retention requirements for both electronic and hard copy formats.
  • Serves as first point of contact for inquiries on various grants and agreements issues including data or financial processing issues.
  • Reviews grant/agreement proposals/applications to verify basic compliance with program guidelines.
  • Assists Grants Management Specialists in the preparation of grants and agreements modifications and administrative actions.
  • Provides detailed instructions and guidance on administrative and clerical activities related to the grants and agreements.
  • Reviews files for completeness, and follows up on unfinished documents in order to complete and close out files.
  • Composes and prepares responses to correspondence on subjects where policies and precedence are established, and obtains signature.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Requirement:

For the GS-07: You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level. Examples of qualifying specialized experience: Experience preparing and managing administrative and technical documentation for a grants and/or agreements program.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT: If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

CTAP/ICTAP applicants who meet the basic minimum qualification requirements and are determined to be well qualified. Well qualified is defined as receiving a rating of at least 85 out of a possible 100 based on responses to the occupational questionnaire.

RPL applicants who meet the basic minimum qualifications and have a rating of at least minimally successful on the most recent performance appraisal.

VEOA applicants who meet the basic minimum qualification requirements and are determined to be among the best qualified. Best qualified is defined as receiving a rating of at least 91 out of a possible 100 based on responses to the occupational questionnaire.
