Based in the Baltimore, Maryland region, this long-term temporary role is a great opportunity for a Collections Specialist. Responsibilities - Oversee and update customer files to ensure data consistency - Yield to all Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act rules and regulations - Catalog all customer payments to the correct reports - Process bankruptcy filings in the correct manner when received - Take care of inbound and outbound collections calls and correspondence - Ensure payments are processed - Pinpoint delinquent customer accounts through various means, including skip-tracing, phone contact, written correspondence, and make arrangements for payment - Manage all billing and reporting activities in line with deadlines - Act as mediator in maintaining quality customer service and a positive company image by resolving customer account inquiriesJob Requirements:- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively throughout all levels of the company - 1+ years of prior high volume collections experience - AA or BS/BA in Accounting preferred - Effectively analyze customer accounts make decisions based on said analyses - Call center experience highly desired - Deep understanding of consumer collections - Comprehensive knowledge of commercial collections - Foundational knowledge in customer service - Demonstrated knowledge of Basic Math Skills - Adeptness in data entry - Command of commercial collections - Earlier experience working with various types of accounting software desired Accountemps, a Robert Half Company, matches highly skilled professionals with accounting finance jobs on a temporary and temporary-to-hire basis.
