Based in the Owings Mills, Maryland region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted long-term temporary opportunity where effort is rewarded. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. The majority of time spent will be dedicated to producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. You'll also have responsibility over various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, your responsibilities include communicating with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, playing an active role in compliance, and reviewing schedules for the reporting processes. What you get to do every day - Participate in various department-wide initiatives - Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation - Oversee the creation of monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for reporting to management - Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments - Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP - Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner - Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision - Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation - Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules - Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requestedJob Requirements:- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment - Dedication and requisite skills to meet critical business deadlines - Proficient with spreadsheets and databases - Recent and relevant accounting experience - Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement - Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases - Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills - Strong analytical skills, with the ability to exercise good judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis - Current and relevant ERP system experience - Self-starter and strong ethical standards - Foundational knowledge in journal entries - Bank reconciliations experience - SAP experience - Command of Microsoft Excel - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics Accountemps, a Robert Half Company, matches highly skilled professionals with accounting finance jobs on a temporary and temporary-to-hire basis.
