ECS is seeking a Network Operations Center Engineer to work in our Washington, DC office. Job Description: Candidate will monitor and maintain the Navy Public Safety Network Candidate will help troubleshoot, analyze, and maintain networks Candidate will be comfortable interfacing with customers and government representatives Problems are varied and range from simple to complex Event management is both reactive and proactive; typically requires significant research and analysis and working closely with the customer POC at client location Troubleshoots and resolves low to medium-complexity network issues Provide in-depth knowledge and technical expertise in the areas of design, installation, maintenance, and support from network infrastructure following established methodologies and processes Performs extensive root cause analysis, problem determination, and support of technical issues related to switching, routing, layer-3 VPNs, basic router configurations, firewalls, etc. Handle level-2 escalation issues through troubleshooting network infrastructure problems. Good analytical skills and experience with troubleshooting techniques The ability to lift and carry computer equipment (up to 50lbs). Required Skills: Minimum active SECRET security clearance required Must be US Citizen 2+ years of hands-on experience with Juniper or Cisco network equipment 2+ years working knowledge of layer-3, VPNs, BGP, OSPF, firewall policy, and VLAN management Bachelor s degree in a relevant area or equivalent experience Reliable self-starter w/ability to follow instructions when needed and complete tasks in a timely fashion 2+ years knowledge and experience with Ethernet switching, IP routing, and IP assignments and subnets Security+ certification per DoD 8570 policy compliance CCNA or JNCIA certification required Must be able to work shift work; including weekends Desired Skills: Proficient in network monitoring/management systems familiarity Experience with cable plant management for data and service provider connectivity Experience with Juniper equipment Experience with Remedy ITSM application Proficient with MS Office and creating reports ECS is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate or allow discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, citizenship, disability, veteran status or any other classification protected by federal, state, or local law.
