Digital Design Engineer Position Summary: As a problem-solving partner with our customers and coworkers, will participate in development of state-of-the-art, miniature microwave receivers for government and military applications. Consistently utilizes the ability to understand and interpret product-level requirements in order to work within a team of multi-disciplinary engineers to develop solutions that meet these requirements while adhering to agreed-upon cost and schedule targets. Key Responsibilities: Work with senior engineering staff to build, test, and deliver fully realized product designs Independently develop digital system/subsystem implementations for variety of products Participate in hardware/software integration efforts Identify development issues and escalate these to engineering staff as appropriate Work with other engineering disciplines in system- and subsystem-level product designs Develop and deliver review materials that communicate design plans to staff Provide technical support and estimates for sales and marketing activities Understand and comply with iRF engineering policies and processes Support corporate initiatives and flow down initiatives as directed ESD Awareness Other duties as assigned Qualifications: Must be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain security clearance Must be able to pass a drug test Must have experience in developing and implementing programmable logic/software architectures that meet customer and internal requirements Must possess an understanding of digital hardware designs including review of datasheets, working from schematics, and using other design artifacts Must have a strong background in programmable logic (VHDL) and digital design; experience in software development in C is required Experience developing for Xilinx FPGAs and use of Xilinx development toolchains is required This individual must be hands-on, decisive, and able to get things done in a small company environment Additional Qualifications: Experience developing for Linux and/or RTOS environments is desired Experience in development of embedded RF products is a plus Experience in schematic capture/hardware design is desired Candidate should be familiar with common development tools including compilers, debuggers, digital o-scopes, MS Office, Visio, and software configuration management/version control Job Requirements:Characterizing analog performance (SNR, THD)Understanding of analog and digital circuits and hardwareDeveloping electronic products including analog and power supply designs Implementation of analog functions including amplifiers, and power supply regulator circuitsTroubleshoot analog and digital electronics circuits of medium and high complexityBring deep knowledge and proven experience in analog design of complex analog blocks and full chips to yield the highest quality of first silicon successDesign complex analog and digital circuits to support aerospace applicationsAimed at fostering collaborative research with customers with a goal of decreasing system development time and improving on-time delivery of new aircraftSelect, and specify magnetics (inductors and transformers) for analog circuits, including materialsFollow EMI / EMC best practices as apply analogConfigure analog sensor interface and hardware (analog) filter synthesisLead the effort in support of technical reviews with US government safety boards and technical interchange meetings directly with customersPerform engineering tasks to support and improve existing analog circuitry as well as for new product developmentWork with researchers, engineers, and lab techs to develop prototype RF/analog devicesModeling, designing, prototyping, and testing analog and support circuitry used in medical imaging productsPerform analog circuit analysis and low power circuit design efforts while also participating in testing and integration tasksUsing analog and digital components, motors and controls, robotics, optics, thermal and PCBsHired needs to have analog circuit design experience (not RF) and ideally some design of power suppliesUsing analog and RF measurement instruments, and coordinating with product and test engineers to release new products to manufacturingOverseeing various aspects of the design including specification, architectural development, transistor level designLeading the architecture, design and debugging/troubleshooting for company's analog and digital power management solutions to include discrete and integrated analog feedback control circuits, digital circuits
