Full-time position as a Wordpress Developer - Remote Primary Responsibilities and Duties: In consultation with the Foundation and its supported organizations and verified compliance with the objectives, standards, and requirements communicated by them: Initiate and lead improvements in processes and standards of construction and maintenance of the supported organizations' software applications Develop technical functionality and implementation of the supported organizations' Internet sites Assist in defining the functionality required to support elaborate Web interfaces and software applications efficiently Recommend and initiate improvements to the supported organizations' sites, operating procedures, and use of technology Serve as a primary point of contact for WordPress technical queries Assist in the creation and maintenance of development-related standard operating procedures Document work and develop necessary support documents or assist the team with development documentation Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a related area or equivalent work experience Demonstrated experience developing WordPress plugins and themes (authorship of publicly available plugins/themes on the WordPress Plugin Directory/Themes Directory a plus) Demonstrated experience providing creative solutions in an agile environment Regular contributions to the WordPress Community (Support Forum, Documentation, etc.) Google Tag Manager experience, preferred. German as a second language is a nice-to-have (We still want to hear from you if you don't!) Extensive experience with the following technologies: o Apache o MySQL o PHP o Nginx o WordPress o WordPress coding standards and best practices o WordPress Community o WordPress multisite o WordPress plugin development o WordPress theme development Demonstrated experience using GitHub in a distributed development environment Proven success as a Web developer Familiarity with the following technologies/programs/platforms: BuddyPress CDN (Content Delivery Networks) Responsive frameworks (Foundation, Bootstrap, etc.) Laravel framework WooCommerce Ability and willingness to travel on occasion Excellent written and verbal communication skills Commitment to the objectives of the organization About TEKsystems: We're partners in transformation.
