Project Manager V
Location: Washington, DC/ Remote Duration: 3 months with possible extension Description: The client is seeking an IT Project Manager V to oversee the application of project management methodology during all phases of the project cycle, with responsibilities that include project design, scope management, cost control, quality and performance reporting. IT Project Manager V may also serve as a Portfolio Manager and be responsible for managing SI/Maintenance budgets, understanding the business and technology priorities within their portfolio and lead/support the gathering and prioritization of product backlogs Job Responsibilities: - Develop, track and manage projects budget, project plans, timelines and scope. - Manage project resources including procuring project staff, developing, motivating, coaching and advising. - Partner closely with other members of functional project teams to define business requirements. - Prepare and present cost-benefit analyses. - Ensure appropriate systems development and project management processes are being utilized. - Make presentations to steering committees or project sponsors. - Manage stakeholder relationships and support any portfolio communications - Facilitate portfolio/project meetings with stakeholders and ensure consistent, transparent decision-making for portfolio and projects - Manage intake process, facilitate impact analysis and prioritization, estimation of resources, cost, time, and risk of changes - Facilitate the User Acceptance Testing & Business Operational Testing processes, developing rollout plans and procedures. - May Support the prioritization of product backlog and release roadmap through PI planning sessions - Manage SI/maintenance budget and resource planning for portfolio, working within governance infrastructure - Drive escalations as neededJob Requirements:Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred. - PMP or PMI certification. - 10+ years' experience. - Proven project management experience. - Strong knowledge and experience on Financial Management (budgeting/forecasting/variance analysis) - People management and team building skills. - Demonstrated ability to be flexible/ adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities. - Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization. - Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications/products and business functions. - Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment. - Strong influencing skills and the ability to proactively engage with audiences at all levels, including senior level executives, to identify insights, best practices, and business opportunity. - Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products: PowerPoint, Excel, Project, SharePoint, Visio, E1 As an equal opportunity employer, ICONMA prides itself on creating an employment environment that supports and encourages the abilities of all persons regardless of race, color, gender, age, sexual orientation, citizenship, or disability.
