Description SAIC is seeking an Information Technology (IT) Disaster Recovery and Exercise Planner to perform Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) functions for our Government Customers. The perfect candidate would have a background in (decreasing importance order): project management, exercise planning, IT network infrastructures, and Satellite communications. The position is located in Chantilly, VA and requires travel up to 25% of each year, to include global travel.Candidates will be expected to provide disaster recovery exercise program development, administration, coordination, training, and execution facilitation. The ideal candidate will be expected to apply subject matter expertise and experience to strategic exercise initiatives impacting international data transfers and the ability to fight through IT outages with minimal mission impact. Responsibilities include:Management of multiple exercise projects that span across multiple government agenciesCoordination for progressively complex scenarios that lead participants through various execution stages (ex: Orientation, Tabletop, Drill, Functional, Full-Scale) to achieve well understood objectivesFacilitation of ad hoc and coordinated planning events with increasing scope, scale, and complexity, staffed with teams delivering various backgrounds and mission objectivesWorks with participants to determine exercise design objectives, tailors the scenarios to mission objectives, and develops documents used in the exercise evaluation, control, and simulations Captures and communicates exercise timelines and roadmaps for orientation(s), drills, tabletop exercises, functional exercises, and full-scale exercisesSupports scenario development (ex: downtime tolerances, data loss potentials, disaster type(s), recovery point objectives, roles, notification lists, emergency points of contacts, communications plans, Service Level Agreements (SLAs)/Memos of Understanding (MOUs), etc.) along with the production of correlating documentationEnables exercise development expansion, or contraction, based on current year objectives and mission needsIdentifies, documents, and assesses potential primary and secondary exercise hazardsReviews prior exercise results for next iteration innovationExpected types of products to develop includes, but is not limited to:Situations Manuals to provide participants background information on the exercise scope, schedule, and objectivesControl/Evaluation Plan to supplement the Situation Manuals with detailed scenario information, describes controller and evaluator roles and responsibilities, and the methodology of evaluationEvaluation Plans Evaluation Guides that describe critical tasks to be completed, and provides evaluators with information on what they should see, space to record their observations, and questions to address after the exercise as a first step analysis processPerforms execution analysis to identify problems, resolutions, exercise weaknesses, operating procedure comprehensiveness, participant skills required, and role clarificationsProduces after action documentation (who participated, extent exercise objectives were achieved, lessons learned, problems, resolutions, and areas for improvements)Qualifications TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience Significant experience and/or certifications may override educationMust have recent and relevant intelligence community experience5+ years' experience performing network design/engineering/analysis activities for a DoD or IC Agency's network requirementsStrong verbal and written communications and analytical skills are a mustMust be willing and able to travel globally Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% of the year Must possess current TS/SCI with Poly Overview SAIC is a premier technology integrator solving our nation's most complex modernization and readiness challenges.
