Position Summary The Application Security Analyst for Epic manages application access with the analysts assigned to the security workgroup, understands Epic's security infrastructure, and provisions security for users and providers. Responsible for working with organizational leadership to develop comprehensive onboarding and termination processes for new Epic users and providers, creating profiles and records, maintaining accessibility for qualified users, and updating user functionality. The Application Security Analyst will also act as the Data Courier Administrator for the Project team and will play an important role in change control processes and meetings for the Epic team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. Provisions Epic application security levels and roles, using advanced technical knowledge of the Epic security and role environment Establishes ownership of each particular security class Coordinates security template and role updates and establishes a security change control process Coordinates security-related activity across physical (buildings, grounds), infrastructure (network, servers, operating system) and application (Epic or non-Epic) teams Leads application and compliance teams on designing system-level access, incorporating the needs of end-users Creates user records and maps them to templates built by application coordinators/analysts Designs, develops, and creates appropriate shared security classifications which do not have specific application ownership Creates and maintains procedures to activate, deactivate, and update user and provider records Understands the Epic software security structures, including user profiles, roles, and security classes Qualifications Education College Degree Required: Bachelor s degree (IT/Healthcare Focus Preferred) OR Associate s degree with at least four (4) years experience Licensure Current Epic certification(s) for relevant applications. New hires and transfers have no more than 45 days from completion of MFA-sponsored Epic training to complete any required Epic certifications. Analysts must remain current on Epic Certifications, badges, trainings, and other credentials. Experience 3 years minimum experience in electronic health record systems end user security analysis and/or in a software vendor environment preferred. Additional experience may be required based upon assignment.
