Position Summary The Lead Clinical Application Analyst is the senior provider of support, information, customer service for application-related issues and opportunities. The role requires a blending of technical skills with a reasonable comprehension of the operational department and their information systems tools and requirements. In addition, this role provides analytical expertise to information systems end users with the overall objective of improving the use of application systems functionality (eg, enhance workflow, optimize business processes and identify appropriate systems solutions). This role also provides guidance, mentoring, organization, and support to the clinical application analyst team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned. Leads the Clinical Applications Analysts through implementations; provides instruction on various technical topics to other team members, educates/trains new hires, and provides mentorship to team members. Manages an applications project through the entire project life cycle while meeting project deadlines and initiatives, monitoring the project plan, reporting project changes and status appropriately. Leads the Clinical Applications Analysts on optimization of the application through development of new functionality, testing, and implementing scheduled vendor releases and system upgrades. Promptly addresses system defects. Serves as the resource for other application team members on technical and functional application analysis, defining system requirement and developing logical data models using best practices for build and configuration, maintenance, workflow and data integrity. Acts as the primary support contact for the application s end-users and an escalation point for other clinical analysts. May be responsible for updating the status of projects and distributing task assignments to the Clinical Application Analyst team. Identifies and implements requested changes to the system. Serves as a liaison between end users' workflow needs and Epic implementation staff. Communicates all necessary application changes, enhancements, and procedures to all necessary department teams. Job Requirements Adaptability/Flexibility: Demonstrating flexibility with respect to changing end-user business needs Critical Thinking: The ability and willingness to see things in an open-minded way and examine an idea or concept from as many angles as possible Dependability: The ability and willingness to take ownership of work activities and ensure that they are completed in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner Education Bachelor s degree required (IT/Healthcare Focus Preferred) Licensure Current Epic certification(s) for relevant applications. New hires and transfers have no more than 45 days from completion of MFA-sponsored Epic training to complete any required Epic certifications. Current Epic certification strongly preferred. Must remain current on Epic Certifications, badges, trainings, and other credentials. Experience 3 years minimum experience in healthcare specialty field and/or in a software vender environment required.
