Summary

About the Position: You will serve as a Building Information Modeling (BIM)/Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) Engineering Technician. You will utilize BIM/CADD systems to construct 3D models to properly develop drawings for architectural and engineering features.

This is a development position - Full Performance Level is at the GS-10 level.

  • Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM)/ Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) systems to construct 3D models to properly develop project drawings.
  • Serve as point of contact for technical matters related to Building Information Modeling (BIM)/ Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) systems.
  • Provide technical support for Building Information Modeling (BIM)/ Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) systems.

  • DRIVER'S LICENSE - The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • DAWIA - This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Facilities Engineering Level II. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.


Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

Specialized Experience for the GS-10 level: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) systems to construct models for construction projects, reviewing BIM/CADD work for accuracy, and providing technical support in BIM/CADD systems to other engineering staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).

Specialized Experience for the GS-09 level: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) systems to construct models for construction projects and reviewing BIM/CADD work for accuracy. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-08).

Specialized Experience for the GS-08 level: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) systems to construct models for construction projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
