Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement:
You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: researching and analyzing regulations to prepare assessments and evaluations of regulatory problems; reviewing and analyzing financial information, program statistics, and preparing recommendations; providing advice and/or guidance to agency management or senior leaders regarding projects and program improvements; and assist with developing and evaluating proposed projects aligned with the agency's strategic goals and objectives. Experience in ocean transportation is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities
As a Senior Industry Analyst you will:
- Serve as a senior advisor to the Bureau Director providing guidance with respect to regularly assigned duties as well as other projects.
- Serve as a Commission authority on Public Laws 89-777 matters; provide guidance to prospective applicants of the requirements of Public Laws as they apply for PVO Casualty and Performance Certificates.
- Serve as the agency's contact for insurance and surety companies participating in the OTI licensing and/or registration program.
- Review and recommend approval or denial of applications for the certification of the financial responsibility of PVOs and licensing of OTIs.
- Participate in meeting with officials and the staff of the Commission and representatives of other government agencies and the industry with respect to OTI and PVO matters.
- Represent the Bureau in formal hearings before the Commission and performs a variety of other related duties as the needs of the organization dictate.
