Summary

The purpose of this position is to serve as a Group Exercise Instructor demonstrating and leading safe and effective group exercise classes, applying the fundamental principles of exercise science, under the supervision of the assigned manager. The size of the installation and the number of facilities and patrons serviced determines number of personnel needed and is provided in the Statement of Difference attached to each position description for that installation. This is for a Medium to High.

Responsibilities

The purpose of this position is to serve as a Group Exercise Instructor demonstrating and leading safe and effective group exercise classes, applying the fundamental principles of exercise science, under the supervision of the assigned manager. Responsible for conducting one or more group exercise classes which includes but is not limited to lectures, exercise instruction and various athletic endeavors. Must promote good patron relationships and enhance the image of the respective program. The incumbent reviews the schedule of functions that are to take place during the assigned shift in order to ascertain what special preparations are required. Ensures that necessary space, supplies and equipment are available and that room arrangements are completed prior to start of class. Provides instruction and guidance to all patrons.

  • Must upload GEI Certification (Groupd Exercise Instructor) and/or Group Exereice Trainer Certificate in order to qualify.
  • Must be willing and able to perform a background check.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.


Qualifications

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Position has been designated Non - Critical Sensitive. As a position of trust and ITII position, employment is conditional on the successful completion of an Access National Agency Check (ANACI).
  • Must possess and maintain a current driver's license to drive a government vehicle in the performance of duties may be required.
  • Position is subject to an irregular tour of duty which may include weekends nd holidays.
  • Must possess and upload a Certified Group Exercise Instructor/Trainer Certificate with resume.
