Duties
Summary
Part of the DFC's activities include providing financing and loan guaranties to financial intermediaries that in turn use the DFC-backed funds to support dozens of downstream projects that meet DFC guidelines. DFC provides this financing through its Framework and Loan Guaranty Facility (FLGF) program. The portfolio of FLGF projects is managed by the Framework Management Division (FMD). FMD also manages DFC's loan syndications as well as DFC's capital mobilization program.

Responsibilities
Interns assist FMD Officers in managing the FLGF, syndications and capital mobilization programs, including assessing the financial performance of the financial intermediaries and their sub-projects (i.e., ascertaining ongoing DFC loan compliance and other related tasks), and performing industry and country risk analyses. Additional duties include reviewing financial statements, analyzing models of projected project cash flows, research on policy issues, preparation of country economic and political risk analyses, preparation of credit reviews of outstanding loans, and other related duties assigned.

Qualifications
Applicants must be U.S. citizens enrolled at least part-time in an accredited college or university in a relevant advanced business degree program such as finance, accounting, international affairs or development. Successful completion of a background investigation is also required.

- Must be currently enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment (at least part-time) in an accredited college or university
- Must be suitable for Federal employment, determined by background investigation
