Job Description

The Washington Post's FP&A department is seeking a Financial Analyst with sales incentive and/or commission calculation experience. This role requires FP&A skills but also a sense of creativity and curiosity in the constantly evolving operation of a digital media business. The desired candidate is self-sufficient and self-directed in managing their core FP&A responsibilities, can connect details to the big picture, and communicates timely business insights to inform management decision making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Calculate quarterly and annual sales incentives for our Client Solutions team
  • Work closely with our Financial Accounting partners to provide incentive payout estimates/accruals and quarterly true-ups
  • Distribute a weekly report to the Client Solutions team to allow sales reps to track against annual and quarterly sales targets
  • Work closely with Client Solutions Operations team to organize sales rep annual incentive plans and goals
  • Distribute payout statements to sales reps on a quarterly basis
  • Provide strategic modeling and ad hoc financial analysis support on business proposals and initiatives


Requirements
  • 1+ years in Financial Planning and Analysis (including knowledge of GAAP accounting)
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business or related field
  • High proficiency in utilizing MS Excel, and relational database applications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to work effectively and independently with all levels of management
