Big Data Technical Supervisor

As a Big Data Technical Supervisor on our GEICO IT Squad, you and your team will utilize big data to derive insights in real time to provide tailored customer experiences and make smarter business decisions. Your team will be working on the Single View of the Customer (SVOC) initiative! This exciting opportunity allows you to use cutting edge technology and to push the art of the possible by building the next generation of a Customer Relationship solution for GEICO. Basic Qualifications: 3-5 years of experience in an IT leadership position, or with experience managing critical and technical projects Proven track record of supporting and operationalizing production applications Experience with Big Data, the Hadoop Ecosystem, NoSQL databases, Web Services, and Service Oriented Architecture applications Passion to innovate and provide solutions to challenges that are encountered Experience in developing associates through providing coaching, feedback, and mentoring Excellent verbal/written communication skills, including communicating technical issues to non-technical audiences A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, related field (business, finance, mathematics, computer science) or equivalent professional experience is required Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of Docker, Spark, Graph Databases, and ETL/ELT workflows Experience leading Agile teams and project deliverables Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) using Maven, Artifactory, Jenkins and Container based deployments Note: The safety of our associates, both current and future, is GEICO's highest priority. Candidates who are selected for this position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home in a designated work area.
