The IGF Shipping Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating the workflow and pulling and loading accuracy of four shipping teams. IGF shipping activities span all outbound shipments, including outbound tractor-trailer loads, IGF box trucks (18-footers), cross-dock shipments, third-party carrier shipments, and customer pick-ups. The organizational structure under the coordinator includes two shipping clerks and four shipping captains, one each per team, who oversee route leaders and their respective teams. These teams are collectively responsible for shipping product to IGF s North Carolina, regional, and local markets as well as its two divisions located in Atlanta, Georgia and Charleston, South Carolina. The Shipping Operations Manager will be responsible for teams that work several shifts, and must anticipate that the job will require them to spend 60 percent of their time on the warehouse floor and 40 percent at a desk. The Coordinator must have a strong desire to design, build, and implement new workflows and have strong, bilingual (English and Spanish) language skills. Supervisory Responsibilities Yes Duties/Responsibilities The Shipping Operations Manager will do the following. 1. Oversee pulling, checking, and loading processes to ensure shipment accuracy 2. Problem-solve with each team to develop and implement efficient workflows 3. Assist the shipping captains with team management, including employee scheduling, performance reviews, and disciplinary and corrective actions 4. Manage third-party relationships with fleet and transportation services providers 5. Work closely with the Receiving, Delivery, and Inventory Coordinators and their team members, when necessary, including participating in regular management reviews geared toward continuous process improvement Qualifications (required) Project management and team leadership experience Creative and proactive work philosophy Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced and variable environment Ability to lead and work as a member of a diverse team Forklift certified; experience with OSHA compliance Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish On-call availability in in emergency situations Qualifications (desired) Experience with food-handling compliance, including FSMA requirements for US importers and distributors and third-party food safety certification processes Commercial driver s license (CDL) Physical Requirements Must be able to sustain prolonged periods of standing and walking Must be able to bend, lift (at least 55 lb.), stretch, and climb (including ladders) Must be able to work across temperature zones (dry/refrigerated/frozen) Job Requirements: Duties/Responsibilities The Shipping Operations Manager will do the following. 1.
