HR Benefits Liaison - Part Time

The George Mason University, Human Resources and Payroll Department is looking for an enthusiastic and energetic individual for a Part-Time HR Benefits Liaison role. Position Summary This part-time position will provide a high level of customer service to employees who have reported a positive or presumptive positive COVID-19 test result confidentially and will obtain follow-up information on COVID-19 status, symptoms, and campus-related locations and exposure.

Responsibilities: * Follows the COVID-19 Case Management Checklist procedures; * Follows-up with employees, contractors, and students receiving a red, orange, or yellow indicators from the COVID Health Check™ to obtain additional case information related to location and potential exposure based on the COVID Case Management Guidelines and Checklist; * Emails instructions to suspected or confirmed COVID-19 cases; * Refers cases to Benefits Administrators for FMLA and VSDP details; * Refers students to Student Health Services, as needed; * Monitors and responds to inquiries sent to COVID@gmu.edu; * Provides excellent customer service in an empathetic and courteous manner, following established guidelines and procedures; * Responds quickly to inquiries via email and phone; * Checks for understanding; * Maintains confidentiality; * Retrieves data for individuals with suspected or confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis from Banner to enter in Case Management database; * Processes status updates in Case Management database; * Updates cases spreadsheet data; * Reports the number of new cases; * Processes forms and cases accurately. Strong attention to detail and accuracy are required.

Required Qualifications: * Customer service skills: experience assisting employees and working with challenging people; * Communication skills: the ability to clearly explain information to employees, verbally and in writing; * Office computer systems skills: Proficient in Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and dynamic forms. Proficient in Excel; * Experience managing work: effectively manages time and resources, identifies and prioritizes critical tasks; * High attention and accuracy standards: Accurately completes tasks and pays attention to detail; * Commitment to confidentiality: maintains strict confidentiality; * Access to technology: Must have wifi/internet at home. Computer and cell phone will be provided. Preferred Qualifications: * High school graduate or equivalent skills and training; * Experience maintaining confidential information; * Case Management training, Contact Tracing training, HIPAA Compliance training, and FERPA Compliance training.
