  • May be exposed to hazards, such as x-rays, high voltage, low intensity laser light, steam, acids, and various chemicals. Badges detecting radiation and overhead shower for acid or chemical spills are provided.


Qualifications

GS-10
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Develop new experimental systems and demonstration units in support of engineering laboratories 2) Design and direct the construction of, or personally fabricating, various electronic and mechanical test devises; 3) Determine test procedures and making changes to improve test equipment 4) Set up, calibrate, and operate mechanical and electronic equipment for engineering labs.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Collect and evaluate data; 2) Design new techniques and methods for testing materials for research purposes 3) Oversee a maintenance plan that ensures the proper operation of laboratory equipment 4) Select and order materials and equipment for use in laboratories.
