About the Position: TechWerks LLC is seeking an Instructional Systems Designer to manage the design and development of learning curricula, programs and/or training materials that exceed customer expectations. This position would report to TechWerks' Training Business Manager and be a part of TechWerks' small but fast-growing Training and Development department. This position offers an opportunity for long-term growth within an established organization. This is a hands-on role with the opportunity to lead and execute the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of a full range of innovative, efficient, and effective learning solutions.Job Requirements:The Instructional Systems Designer responsibilities include, but are not limited to: . Designing, developing, and maintaining training materials (presentations, web-based training primarily in Lectora, quick reference guides, job aids, instructor/participant guides, etc.) on a variety of topics . Analyzing business goals, industry landscape / learner environment, target audiences, job tasks, and existing content to identify appropriate instructional strategies . Defining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and setting benchmarks to measure correlation of training solutions to performance improvement . Collaborating with internal and external Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) on course design, development, and delivery . Creating and maintaining job/task analysis, training needs analysis, design documents, storyboards, video scripts, project plans, and other artifacts for various training projects . Selecting and using appropriate techniques to define and sequence instructional content . Utilizing modern learning (student-centered) methods to ensure learning initiatives are constructed to produce the desired changes in behavior, attitude, knowledge, and skills needed to make real business impact . Utilizing sound instructional design methodologies to create complex (eg, guided discovery, case method, problem-based, game-based, competency-based approaches), high-quality and innovative (formal, informal, blended) instructional materials and learning solutions . Developing performance measures: criterion-referenced achievement tests, questionnaires, interviews, and simulation scenarios . Collecting and analyzing program data to evaluate training courses and program effectiveness; identifying problem areas and making recommendations for improvements . Staying current on evolving trends in the field of learning and recommending innovative training tools and technique to deliver cutting-edge design solutions . You may wear lots of different hats in order to deliver the best product possible to the client. In this way, your role at TechWerks has the capability of expanding and/or diversifying. You can focus on parts of the role that interest you most with the support of your Project Manager(s). What You Bring to the Table The ideal candidate is a creative professional with an entrepreneurial spirit who can design and develop learning experiences to help TechWerks meet the needs of its clients on a number of interesting government contracts. They will possess a strong understanding of adult learning theory, learner retention, and application, and demonstrate graphic, layout, and instructional design skills to build eLearning and instructor-led modules that are engaging, fun, and memorable. It's important that candidates have the minimum qualifications with a desire to learn and grow. Minimum Qualifications . 3+ years of experience designing and developing training materials on a variety of topics . 3+ years of experience designing and developing web-based training with Lectora, Storyline, and other development technologies . Experience with the ADDIE process of Instructional Systems Design . Understanding of LMS functionality including SCORM and AICC standards . Experience in 508 accessibility compliance testing preferred . Excellent written and verbal communication skills . Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office with emphasis on Word, PowerPoint, and Excel . A high level of attention of detail . Ability to multitask, wear many hats, and juggle multiple projects in a fast-paced work environment . Strong project management experience, must be able to self-manage and prioritize projects with little supervision . High degree of adaptability and flexibility Required Education . Bachelor's degree (in a related field such as Instructional Design or Education preferred)
