The capture manager devises a strategy for searching out promising new business opportunities and clients, and turning those opportunities into new business for the company. Responsibilities: Search various databases to identify promising contracting opportunities Communicates capture strategy to the sales team and makes sure it is implemented effectively Coordinates and manages the bidding and proposal process. Conducts research and uses the information compiled by the staff to determine the best price and the best slate of services for the bid. Meets with prospective customers to answer questions and discuss a possible contract. Gets appropriate contracts signed by all parties involved in a new business deal. Expands the client base while maintaining existing clients. Understands every aspect of a business opportunity including the scope of the project, how many resources will be needed, the impact on schedules, competitive pricing and budget concerns. Works with proposal developers to ensure that a top-notch proposal is submitted to the prospective client. Establishes and builds relationships with prospective and existing clients. Develops a plan for making regular contact with prospective client targets. Studies key competitors. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have exceptional leadership and management skills. Must have superior organizational and time-management skills. Must be an expert decision-maker with sound judgment. Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must be a strong public speaker. Excellent analytical skills are essential. Must be good at multi-tasking Must have strong negotiating skills. Education and Experience: Bachelor s or associates degree At least 7 years of work experience Understanding of government contracting and proposal writing preferred, not required Benefits: Full Medical, and dental plan with employer contribution Matching 401K plan Two weeks of vacation and 1 week of sick each year Job Requirements: Promote cooperative new business capture endeavors Coordinate capture plan and capture team activities and actions for win-strategy development, to include overall capture strategy Secure sufficient capture to meet market area booking goals Coordinates and lead capture teams, as well as execute capture plans as a capture manager using a Shipley based capture Demonstrated ability as a capture manager leading capture efforts from pursuit decision Execute all phases of the capture and proposal activities Execute all phases of the capture and proposal process Reporting to executive management on capture status Act as thought leader during capture and proposal phases Execute specific capture plan that includes critical actions and activities that capture team Evolve and mature over the capture/proposal process/timeline Leading others through the capture process Own the development of all capture related deliverables Capture manager activities and coordinates with the Proposal management team to ensure capture managers are providing thorough capture documentation, such as capture plans to support proposal development Building strong and enduring personal relationships with new clients Own the capture strategy in conjunction with the capture team Develop winning capture strategy and approaches Reinforce organizational compliance with business development and capture processes Capture team members on the capture process and business development Provide leadership oversight to the capture managers Manage the direction of the core capture team
