The team focuses on several key risk types, including conduct, credit, financial crimes, information security, interest rate, liquidity, market, model, operational, regulatory compliance, reputation, strategic, and technology risk. The group provides leadership, enhances communications, assists with problem identification and solutions, and shares best practices. In addition, the group provides an enterprise-wide view of risk, assists management and our Board of Directors in identifying and monitoring risks that may affect multiple lines of business, and takes appropriate action when business activities exceed the risk tolerance of the company. As the largest mortgage originator and servicer in the country, understanding the value of real estate, both commercial and residential, is critical. Real Estate Valuation Services (REVS) serves as an independent risk management function within Corporate Credit that: Interprets appraisal regulation and sets Corporate Valuation Policy Communicates with regulators on pending and proposed regulations Assumes responsibility for ensuring that compliant valuation processes and practices are in place for all valuations across Wells Fargo Leads the industry in real estate valuation processes and execution This REVS Valuation Manager Quality Control Eastern Territory leader will be responsible for collateral valuation quality assurance for commercial real estate valuations. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following: Overseeing REVS collateral valuation team and meeting Wells Fargo's collateral valuation standards, policies and procedures. Ensuring direct reports are meeting service and quality expectations. Partnering with the REVS Analytics Team to generate quality assurance reporting that illustrates quality trends, concentrations and risks. Identifying and assessing key risk control points within Wells Fargo's commercial real estate collateral policies, programs and processes Ensuring appropriate action plans are developed and implemented by the responsible parties when issues are identified. As a Team Member Manager, you are expected to achieve success by leading yourself, your team, and the business. Specifically you will: Lead your team with integrity and create an environment where your team members feel included, valued, and supported to do work that energizes them. Accomplish management responsibilities which include sourcing and hiring talented team members, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing team members, identifying and managing risks, and completing daily management tasks. Required Qualifications 5+ years of valuation experience 4+ years of management experience Certified Appraiser Desired Qualifications Commercial real estate experience Knowledge and understanding of real estate valuations and titles Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability Good analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills Strong time management skills and ability to meet deadlines Customer service focus with the ability to listen to customer needs and recommend solutions Other Desired Qualifications 3+ years of recent management of commercial and residential staff appraisers/reviewers for a regional or national institution. This will include expert knowledge and experience performing valuations and territory coverage of the following specific geographic areas: New York City and surrounding metro area Newark NJ and the surrounding metro area Hartford, CT and surrounding metro area Arlington, VA and surrounding metro area Washington, DC and surrounding metro area Atlanta, GA and surrounding metro area Miami, FL and surrounding metro area Strong technical and analytical skills including establishing market values and property ratings A BS/BA college degree or higher; with course work in Appraisal, Real Estate, Finance, Development, Accounting and Construction preferred Well versed in USPAP and FIRREA requirements (Knowledge of CUSPAP is a plus) Intermediate computer modeling skills including ability to create and interpret robust Excel and Argus Models Knowledge/experience with ARGUS is helpful and preferred. Participation in an appraisal organization such (eg Appraisal Institute, American Society of Appraisers, similar real estate/appraisal organizations, etc.) is preferred Job Expectations Ability to travel up to 20% of the time Disclaimer All offers for employment with Wells Fargo are contingent upon the candidate having successfully completed a criminal background check.
