SOFTWARE ENGINEER--ANNAPOLIS, MD/ REMOTE This company is developing "quantum resistant data protection solutions"-- the encryption software they create applies security so that someone could not derive the data being transferred in chat (over iOS/Android). They are seeking a talented engineer who enjoys challenging work and is enthusiastic about trying it out with some uncertainty. Currently they are in a fully virtual environment working remotely and this is the expectation going forward that they will be doing this until further notice. They do have office space in Annapolis, MD, but it is currently vacant. Responsibilities : Create the core algorithms and libraries for encryption software. Work with a small team of developers to test proof of concept solutions for potential customers. independently to solve problems within current software and make improvements. Write easy-to-understand documentation, for both technical and end-user audiences. Write unit tests for developed code. Provide guidance to more junior engineers. Qualifications : BS in Computer Science or related field preferred. 2-5 years of experience developing software in a professional setting. Strong foundation of skills working with object oriented languages preferably C++ and Java targeting Unix/Linux OS. Recent work experience in a professional setting with iOS/Android or both utilizing Objective C, Swift or Java. Familiarity with cryptography and/or encryption is a plus.
