Ballard Spahr LLP seeks to hire a Finance paralegal in the Washington DC office. The paralegal will work with lawyers, legal administrative assistants, paralegals and legal support assistants within the practice group, as well as, with transaction participants outside the practice group to provide timely high quality transactional legal assistance. The selected individual will assist the lawyers with deal management by performing due diligence review, performing necessary legal research, drafting and negotiation of loan documents, preparing checklists, organizing closing documentation and interfacing with clients.Excellent customer service, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are essential to be successful in this position. Candidates must have a proven track record of being able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and have a strong attention to detail.Requirements include a paralegal certificate or 2 year college degree and 3+ years relevant work experience as a paralegal or closing coordinator, preferably with a title company, mortgage company, law firm or other firm providing services to borrowers, lenders or mortgage companies. Familiarity with a variety of multifamily financing executions involving GSEs. An intermediate level with Microsoft Office, document management and time keeping systems is required.
