Our Fire and Life Safety business is looking for an entry-level Fire Protection Engineer to join their team in either our Baltimore, MD, Chantilly, VA or Richmond, VA offices. In this position, you will support a wide variety of projects involving code consulting, system design/evaluation, fire modeling, etc. for a diverse group of clientele across the US You will perform Building/Fire Code consultation and develop contract documents for Fire Alarm and Suppression Systems for our clients. For success in this position, you will possess the following skills and qualifications: Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field Engineering-in-Training (EIT) preferred 0-3 years of experience in the evaluation and/or design of Fire Protection Systems Familiarity with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards, including Life Safety Code Requirements for both new construction and modifications to existing buildings Experience in the application of fire modeling (ie FDS, CONTAM, Pathfinder, CFAST, etc.) AutoCAD and/or REVIT design capability and experience a plus Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work both within a team and independently Our commitment to you Fostering gender balance, diversity and acceptance of flexible working is central to the way GHD does business.
