Job Description:

The Teacher facilitates student success in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of students' providing a safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc.

Qualifications:

Education: Minimum of Bachelor's degree.

Certificates & Licenses: Valid Virginia Department of Education license with required endorsements for subject and level assigned.

Must be certified to teach in one or more of the following areas: Biology-I, Earth Science, Algebra-I, World History-I, World History-II, and/or Geometry.

Essential Functions:
  • Ability to address learning standards and differentiate instruction
  • Have strong organizational skills
  • Manage classroom behavior in accordance with the district's Student Code of Conduct
  • Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process
  • Work with other staff members to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing
  • Compile, maintain and file all reports, records and other documents required

Pay Rate: $46 per hour, classes meet from 3:30pm-5:30pm dates TBD

Clearances:
  • Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.
  • Tuberculosis Skin Test.
