We will provide you the flexibility to shape a role that helps develop the career you want.Responsibilities Perspecta is looking for a SENSOR ENGINEER to join a skilled, highly respected and long-standing team supporting New Capabilities Integration efforts for emerging systems. The successful candidate will support product evaluations, system and regression testing, quality studies, new sensor initializations, and/or product algorithm assessments. Candidate should have a working understanding and practical application of modeling components of the image path to include sensor, detector, atmospheric, and material properties. Familiarity with current GEOINT systems and products will be necessary to develop, assess, and execute test and verification methodologies.Activities include, but are not limited to:Sensor modeling; decomposing product formation elements to quantify the overall quality of the image chainAlgorithm assessment to quantify the performance of a product given desired mission application Baseline assessment of system performance to support sensor initializationRegression analysis and evaluations of delivered operational capabilitiesDevelopment, preparation, and execution of comprehensive test & evaluation plans, procedures and schedules which verify and validate enterprise capabilities, system requirements, performance and operabilityReadiness for system integration, test, evaluation and transition activitiesPlanning, preparation, and support to transition of New Capability Integration efforts for emerging systems QualificationsRequires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA or 5 to 7 years with PhD.Required:Active TS/SCI Clearance with PolygraphExperience working with GEOINT EO imaging platformsExperience in EO Image Science (Phenomenology, Sensor technology, Image ProcessingExperience working with GEOINT EO imaging platformsUnderstanding of Image chain analysis to include sensor modeling, signal quality and noise, optics, detector calibration, and image processing of pixel dataUnderstanding and application of image quality standards, scales, metrics and image quality equationsApplied knowledge of sensor imaging systems, products, and exploitation processesUnderstanding of the systems engineering lifecycle to include independent testing and data verification Strong written and oral communication skillsAbility to work independently as well as part of a team Willingness to learn, solve problems and perform in a dynamic work environmentDesired:Degree in Image Science, Electrical Engineering, or PhysicsUnderstanding of the GEOINT enterprise TCPED processExperience working in a DoD or IC operational environmentExperience working on Product Initialization teamsExperience developing engineering code (eg C, Python, Matlab, IDL) to solve hard problems and create processes for repeatable results About PerspectaWhat matters to our nation, is what matters to us.
